UNOPPOSED was created from a simple idea: everyone has a story worth telling.
Behind every business, song, photograph, collection, performance, and creative project is a person who decided to begin. Sometimes that beginning is exciting. Sometimes it's uncertain. Sometimes it's taken years to finally make the leap.
UNOPPOSED exists to document those moments.
We are an independent digital magazine dedicated to highlighting artists, musicians, entrepreneurs, models, businesses, and creatives who are building something meaningful. Through portrait photography, interviews, and editorial storytelling, we create space for people to share not only what they do, but why they do it.
Why UNOPPOSED?
The creative world can sometimes feel like it has a very specific idea of who deserves to be seen.
You need the right following. The right connections. The right portfolio. The right amount of experience.
We don't believe your story should have to wait for any of that.
UNOPPOSED was built to celebrate people who are in the process. The emerging musician writing their first songs. The entrepreneur building their first business. The model stepping in front of a camera for the first time. The artist figuring out where their work belongs.
You don't have to have everything figured out.
You just have to be creating something worth sharing.
More Than a Magazine
A feature in UNOPPOSED isn't intended to simply give someone a few pages in a digital publication.
It's an opportunity to pause and document a particular chapter of your life.
Our editorial features combine thoughtful conversation, photography, and design to create something personal to the person being featured. Some contributors work with us to create a custom portrait session specifically for their feature. Others provide their own imagery and collaborate with us to turn their work into a contributor feature.
Either way, the goal remains the same:
Tell the story behind the person.

You don't need thousands of followers to belong here. You don't need a recognizable name. You don't need a perfectly polished career.
UNOPPOSED is interested in individuality, ambition, creativity, resilience, and the stories that often exist before someone becomes "successful."
Because sometimes the most interesting part of someone's journey isn't where they ended up.
It's where they decided to begin.
The Person Behind the Magazine
UNOPPOSED was founded by me, Jaydon Wheeler, a photographer and creative based in British Columbia.
What began as an extension of his passion for portrait photography grew into something larger: a publication where photography could become a doorway into people's stories.
Photography has always been about more than creating a good image. For me, it's about creating an environment where someone can step in front of a camera, be themselves, and see a version of themselves they might not have noticed before.
UNOPPOSED became a way to take that idea beyond the photoshoot.
Instead of simply asking, "Can I photograph you?"
The question became:
"What are you creating, and how can we help tell people about it?"
Where We're Going
UNOPPOSED is starting in British Columbia, but the vision extends far beyond one city or one community.
We want to build a growing archive of Canadian creative stories, connecting readers with people they might never have discovered otherwise.
Artists.
Musicians.
Entrepreneurs.
Models.
Photographers.
Designers.
Small businesses.
Dreamers.
People beginning again.
The people featured in these pages may be at completely different stages of their lives and careers, but they share one thing:
They chose to create.
And we think that's worth documenting.
